A Diverse Country

I would definitely say that the United States has many diverse peoples. For example, we have the African-American population that originated from Africa, and then we have the Hispanic population that came from Central and South America. I know that before we banned slavery in the US, we didn't have very many civil rights movements. Anyone who wasn't white was treated not as well as a white person would be. But thanks to the Civil War, we got rid of slavery, and then slowly convinced America as a whole that people of different color were no different in spirit at all than white people. The only difference was just the color of their skin, which doesn't matter at all! It was the prejudice of white Americans for 200 years that caused all of the issues. And now, we have leaders in attacking and ridding America finally of all of the hate, which is totally unnecessary.
My church is one of those leaders. We have a multi-cultural church, which means that we have all kinds of people in there. Black, white, Mexican, Hispanic, Asian, you name it! We probably have it. We even have someone from Sudan! Anyway, my church is, by accepting all of these different cultured peoples, showing that it doesn't matter who you are, or what you look like. It matters, for my church's case, if they believe in God and Jesus or not. And for outside the church, there are also many other groups that pepper our society with acceptance messages. That is how the US extends its hand to people of different cultures.

My Favorite Place in the Country

I think that in the country, my favorite place is California. In the suburbs of major cities, the climate is wonderful, unlike the smog-infested cities. I remember going to my grandparents' house in La Canada, a suburb of Los Angeles. It was like a little Heaven there, due to the constant temperature of 70 degrees. I liked it compared to Texas because it had hardly any 90 degree days, when Texas had many 100 degree days. It made me think of one of the nicest places in the world. Also, La Canada was just about 30 minutes away from everything. All of the major attractions were in Los Angeles, which included theme parks, and many other fun activities.
I remember going to one called Knottsbury Farm. It was a nice little attraction that included a log ride (which my brother cried on), live plays, and free ice cream. Even though I was too little to experience much of it, it still was one of the most enjoyable experiences I've had in my life. This was because my grandfather was still alive and running. He was able to do many activities with us. But I think that California, even with its almost lavish climate, is too overpriced. The beliefs of many Californian executives are very different to mine. So, because of that, I don't think I'll be going there anytime soon.
Thanks!

Terrorist Attacks

I know that the US has many terrorist attacks, most outside of the here, but they are still directed at us. There have been embassy attacks in Africa and mainly the Middle East, but I think that I have heard of attacks in Europe, too. Many of our attackers have been extremist Muslims, but we've also had some home-grown terrorists, as well. The attacks have been directed at high-populated places, or certain areas with a high population density, like a military base or hotel, or maybe a 100-story tower with a twin. Who knows where or when they'll happen? Only the main guys behind it. Al Qaeda is the leading terrorist group against the Americans and other civilized countries. They have taken out thousands upon thousands of our people.
The motives of these fanatical people include some of the following: the hatred of our taking things for granted, the hatred of some of our religions (Christianity, etc.), the hatred of the richness of our country, and other horrifying things. Thankfully, unlike some other countries, we have decided to take a stand against the killing and suffering. For one, operatives in the CIA and the military have infiltrated the Islamic group's areas and taken out key helpers with Al Qaeda. We have blown up their buildings and made it harder for them to get into our country and large population density areas, such as airports. In 2002, President Bush declared war on terrorism. It started with Afghanistan, and then branched out into Iraq and other countries all over the world. The US has worked with the UN and European countries, plus Austrailia, to combat the extremists. Since then, we have developed better and more efficient ways to rid the world of these troublemakers, and although there will always be a remnant, hopefully in the future we will have some way to control it.
